16 reasons to visit Christmas Village in LOVE Park

Christmas Village transforms Love Park and City Hall’s courtyard into a traditional, open-air German Christmas Market. This year’s attractions include a double-decker carousel, a Ferris wheel, delicious German fare, and over 110 vendors.

The festivities kick off with a special Preview Weekend on November 19 to November 20, 2022. The preview runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 19 and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20.

Christkind from Nuremberg, Germany, will open the market at 3 p.m. on November 24, 2022. The market runs through Christmas Eve, December 24. The event is one of the largest and most authentic German Christmas markets in the United States. Admission to Christmas Village is free. Shopping, food, and drink are pay-as-you-go.

Visitors will enjoy thousands of holiday lights, live music, and festive decorations. They can eat delicious German food such as Bratwurst, Belgian Fries, and Raclette Cheese Stube. Raclette is an Alpine Cheese that’s melted and scraped onto a crispy baguette.

Other favorites include Käespätzle (German-style mac n’ cheese) and Helmut’s strudel. Shoppers can quench their thirst with a mug of Glühwein (spiced mull wine), apple cider, or hot chocolate.

Visitors can also check out 40 more vendors at Made in Philadelphia Market at Dilworth Park. Together, shoppers will have 150 reasons to skip the mall. Christmas Village has something for everyone, including toys, apparel, jewelry, artwork, and ornaments.
